Marcos Zotes
Marcos is founder and principal of UNSTABLE, a design and research laboratory that explores the social and political aspects of architecture in relation to the urban context. His work has been exhibited in New York, London, Madrid, Barcelona, Reykjavik, and more recently at the13th Venice Architecture Biennale as part of “Spontaneous Interventions: Design Actions for the Common Good” in the US Pavilion.
Marcos received his Professional Diploma in Architecture with Distinction from London Metropolitan University, followed by a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design with Honors for Excellence in Design from Columbia University. He has worked internationally at OMA / Office for Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam, CHORA in London, and Basalt in Reykjavik. In addition, Marcos teaches design studios at Iceland Academy of the Arts in Reykjavik, and Barnard and Columbia Colleges in New York.
